Hello:

I was fortunate to get to the Bucks County register of wills to collect some information. While there I checked out File# 1791-02302 for Philip Sipler. In it is mentioned Elizabeth Hawk(e) and Mary Ban(c)kson- grandchildren. I believe these are Philip's granddaughters and are the daughters of the deceased wife of Bernard VanKirk. (VanKirk sisters)

The mystery arises when these 2 names appear in the will of Isaac Stackhouse 7.268. Proved May 30, 1807. I can find no connection with VanKirk and Stackhouse.

Looking for a reason these 2 sisters would be in both wills. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Hi Jeff! There is an orphans court record File #1011 for Philip Sypler that says he has 2 Grandchildren by one deceased daughter (wife of Bernard Vankirk) and 6 more with late wife of Richard Skyes. Maybe it is Richard's daughters who married with the Stackhouse's? It also lists his 3 sons who were Philip (eldest) of full age, Matthias and David. I got this from Tom Myers book on Orphan court records!
