Subject:  Magic Mirrors and the Pencil of Nature: Identifying 19th Century Photographs
  Bruce Katsiff will briefly review the early history of photography with emphasis on illustrating the many different nineteenth century processes. The talk will help the audience to identify and preserve their own old photographs. Attendees are encouraged to bring examples of their own images to help identify which process was used to create the pictures.
Speaker: Bruce Katsiff
  Born in Philadelphia, Bruce Katsiff studied photography at Rochester Institute of Technology and Pratt Institute earning BFA and MFA degrees. He completed postgraduate studies at Oxford University. His work has been exhibited in museums and galleries including the Museum of Modern Art in NYC, the Philadelphia Museum of Art and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art. For 25 years he taught photography and was a college arts administrator. From 1989-2012, he served as Director/CEO of the James A. Michener Art Museum in Bucks County.
