| Text of obituary: | Michael S. Arter, Sr.; age 62 years; of Philadelphia, Pa., passed away on July 12, 2019. He is survived by the beloved Marguerite L. (Gallo) Arter. Michael is the loving father of Michael S. Arter, Jr., Marguerite D. Arter, Claudette L. Arter. He is the brother of Richard (Beverly) Arter, Patricia (the late Edward) Flanagan, Stephen Arter, Kevin (Kasey) Von Arter, Raymond (Kate) Arter, and the late Emily (Brian) Goldman, and Barbara Arter (David Klausmeyer). Michael is the son in law of Marguerite and the late Frances R. Gallo and the brother in law of Frank Gallo, Karen Gallo,Richard (Cristina) Gallo, and Ronald Sihler. He is also the uncle to many nieces and nephews. Michael was born on May 4, 1957 in Northeast Philadelphia to Richard and Catharine (Bradley) Arter, Sr. Michael is a graduate of LaSalle University College Preparatory School. He continued his education by earning his Bachelor’s degree from Temple University. He was employed by Naval Aviation Supply Office as a Systems Analyst. Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Friday, July 19, 2019 from 9:30 am to 10:50 am and to his Mass of Christian Burial following at 11 am, both in St. Denis Church 2401 St. Denis Lane Havertown, Pennsylvania 19083. The interment will take place in St. Denis Cemetery in Havertown immediately following his Mass. In lieu of flowers an offering in Mr. Arter’s name to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society 100 North 20th Street Philadelphia, Pa. 19103 would be greatly appreciated. |
